You are NOT helping

I think I speak for Tennesseans as well as self defense advocates when I say thanks for being dumb-asses and screwing things up for the rest of us, you idiots.

Two Tennessee men heading into Lincoln Tunnel face drugs and weapons charges

Two Tennessee men found with a handgun, handcuffs and a bag of suspected marijuana were arrested in Weehawken at the mouth of the Lincoln Tunnel by Port Authority Police Friday, officials said.

The driver, Donald Martin West, 41, and Troy D. Davis, 23, both of Knoxville, also had two cigars rolled with suspected marijuana and a questionable story about where they were headed when arrested just before 11 a.m., police said.

West was charged with criminal possession of a weapons, criminal possession of hollow-point bullets, police said, adding that both were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia — pipes.

West drove east toward the tunnel in a 1994 Acura and was pulled over because it had on front plate, police said, adding that while handing over his documents to police he also turned over a Tennessee handgun carrier permit.

Asked if he was carrying a gun, West said “In the small of my back,” police said, adding that when asked if there was anything else in the Acura, West mentioned the 27 grams of suspected pot.

Strange Neighbor

That’s me! – Just after dark, I got my stuff together to go close the animals up for the night and walked out onto the front porch. I was startled to see a strange truck parked in the driveway with its lights off. Fortunately, in the event this had actually been a dangerous situation for me, my “stuff” includes a 1.5 million candlepower spotlight & an AK-47 rifle.

I shined the spotlight on the truck, illuminating a guy inside talking on a cell phone. He quickly lowered his window, saying “Sorry! I’m at the wrong house.” to which I replied “Buddy, you don’t know how right you are!” He apologized again, put the truck in reverse & left. He was probably being honest because he drove to the house to the North of ours, parked & went inside. The only thing remotely suspicious is that he left before I had returned from the barn. There sure is a lot of all-hours come-&-go traffic at that domicile. Makes me go “Hmmmmm…”

I’d pay good money to have heard the conversation next door after this encounter.
